Programme health check

An independent read on where delivery actually stands — before you commit more time, money or reputation to a date you are not sure about. Fixed scope, fixed fee, agreed before we start.

What you are buying

Duration
[TEN] working days from mobilisation, agreed with you before we start.
Fee
Fixed fee from £[FEE], confirmed in writing before any work begins. No day-rate drift.
What we review
Business case, integrated plan, cost forecast, RAID, supplier commitments, test status and business readiness evidence.
Who we speak to
Your sponsor, delivery owners, workstream leads and the suppliers that matter to the outcome. Typically [SIX TO TEN] interviews.
What you receive
A written assessment ranked by business exposure; a recommended action and proposed owner for every material finding; and a decision brief your sponsor can take to the board. We present the findings to your steering group.
What we need from you
Access to current delivery artefacts, and roughly an hour each from the people we interview. Nothing needs preparing for us.

If the review concludes no intervention is needed, that is a valid and useful result. Any follow-on recovery or delivery support is scoped and priced separately, and you are under no obligation to take it.

When to bring us in

You need an independent view before approving the next phase, increasing investment or relying on a forecast date. We test the plan against delivery evidence, supplier commitments and business readiness, then explain the gaps, consequences and recommended intervention.

How we help

  • Review plans, forecasts, RAID, dependencies and key artefacts
  • Interview sponsors, delivery owners and relevant suppliers
  • Test the evidence behind milestones and readiness claims
  • Separate urgent interventions from longer-term improvements

What you can expect

You receive a prioritised assessment explaining the delivery exposure, supporting evidence, recommended response and decisions needed. The report includes limitations so you can judge the strength of each conclusion.

Evidence-based health assessment

Priority findings with business and delivery implications

Recommended actions with proposed ownership

Sponsor decision brief and follow-up review plan

Decisions we help you make

  • Is the next milestone supported by evidence across delivery, suppliers and business readiness?
  • Which weaknesses threaten the business commitment, and which can be addressed within normal delivery?
  • Should the sponsor proceed, apply conditions, replan or commission a recovery intervention?

How we work with your team

Ask the questions that matter

We agree what you need confidence in, then review the business case, plans, costs, supplier commitments and readiness information. Conversations with sponsors and delivery teams help explain the gaps behind the paperwork.

Test the commitments

We examine whether dates, resources and dependencies support the promised outcome. Findings distinguish confirmed problems from assumptions and missing information, with a clear explanation of the likely business impact.

Give you a practical way forward

You receive prioritised findings, recommended actions and the decisions needed from your team. We explain what can continue, what needs attention and where recovery support would add value.

Getting started

We agree the decision the review must support: investment approval, a release commitment, recovery intervention or a new sponsor taking responsibility. That determines the questions, evidence and interview scope.

The review examines the current business case, integrated plan, cost forecast, supplier commitments, risks, testing and business readiness. Findings distinguish verified evidence, conflicting accounts and information that remains unavailable.

How we assess progress

We agree the measures at the start of the engagement and review them with the responsible business and delivery owners.

  • Coverage of the agreed review questions and access to supporting evidence.
  • Clear separation of immediate threats, structural weaknesses and lower-priority improvements.
  • An accountable owner and proposed action for every material finding.
  • A sponsor decision on the recommended intervention and any follow-up review.

Handover and ongoing ownership

We walk sponsors and delivery owners through the findings and hand over the action register. Where recovery is needed, its scope is agreed separately from the assessment.

The expertise behind the work

Programme assurance leads, PMO specialists and business analysts. We match the experience and responsibilities to your assignment and confirm availability before you commit.

Choose the support you need

Commission a focused independent review of a project, programme or critical delivery milestone. Follow-on recovery or delivery support is optional.
